How to Pose for Pictures

Angle your face. It’s best to avoid taking photos of your face straight-on. This allows for now shadows, which make the face look wider and adds that extra “ten pounds”.

Focus on the eyes. The camera should focus on your eyes. The photo’s composition should draw the views to your eyes as well.

Choose your camera position. With portraits, because the focus is your face, the camera should be position in such a way as to accentuate it. High camera positions are most flattering, though eye-level works well for many situations.

Use a natural smile. Nothing can ruin a photo more than a fake smile. Forced emotions will do just that, make the photo looked forced. Ignore your insecurities, and hype yourself up to smile. 🙂
